Our Story
How We Met
Where It All Started
Our story begins in October 2020 in Chicago. Sahithi was a Tech Consultant in Philadelphia, and Kanna was a Retail Consultant in New York. We both moved to Chicago within two weeks of each other and, by chance, met within the first two weeks of moving to a new city.
Our love and respect for each other continued to grow as we spent more and more time together and talked about family, travel, friends, work, and many other topics. It only took three months for both of us to meet each other’s families, and six months later, we decided to move in together in Chicago.
Since then, we have traveled to 20+ countries and have been on a non-stop adventure. We are so excited to share our love for traveling and celebrate our wedding with close friends and family in one of our favorite places in the world — Antigua, Guatemala.

Proposal
Where It All Came Together
We were traveling through Portugal to celebrate Sahithi’s birthday in April 2022. The day after Sahithi’s birthday, we were in Porto and made plans to go on a wine tour in Douro Valley.
Kanna told Sahithi it was a tour with a small group of people, which ended up not being true. For the previous three months, Kanna had been working with the “small group,” which consisted of a photographer and private tour guide, to set up the surprise proposal.
Kanna planned to propose in a vineyard. However, he realized it was forecasted to rain that day, so he spontaneously decided to propose to Sahithi in the middle of the road near a lookout point as she was taking in the beautiful Douro Valley.
It never ended up raining that day, and we spent the rest of the day celebrating the proposal and sharing the news with family and friends.
Engagement
We celebrated our engagement with close family & friends in Pittsburgh & Philadelphia.
